Visit the Airlie Beach Lagoon – This is a beautiful man-made pool that overlooks the Coral Sea. It’s perfect for swimming, sunbathing and relaxing, and there are plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas around the lagoon so you can really make the most of your time here.
Explore Abel Point Marina – This is one of the busiest marinas in Australia, home to hundreds of boats. There’s plenty to see here, and you might even spot some dolphins or turtles if you’re lucky!
Head to Conway National Park – Just a short drive from Airlie Beach, this national park is home to rainforest, waterfalls, and hiking trails. It’s a great place to explore if you love nature.
Spend a day on Whitehaven Beach – This is one of the most beautiful beaches in Australia, and it’s definitely worth spending a day here. You can relax on the soft white sand or go for a swim in the crystal-clear water.
Take a cruise – There are plenty of different cruises that depart from Airlie Beach, ranging from day trips to overnight excursions. You can choose from sailing trips, snorkelling tours or even scuba diving adventures!
Airlie Beach is situated in the Whitsunday region of Queensland and is in close proximity to the Great Barrier Reef. As such, it is a popular tourist destination, and many visitors come here to scuba dive, snorkel, and explore the beautiful reef.
There are a number of different routes that you can take when driving a motorhome through Airlie Beach. One option is to head north from Airlie Beach, towards Townsville. This route will take you through some stunning scenery, including the rainforest of the Daintree National Park.
Alternatively, you could head south from Airlie Beach, towards Mackay. This route takes you through some of the most beautiful beaches in Australia, including Whitehaven Beach. You will also pass through the charming town of Bowen, before reaching Mackay.
