The fantastic beaches, the impressive coastline and the picturesque mountain landscape make Lamezia an ideal destination for a holiday with an RV. The region is off the beaten track and has therefore retained its original character. On the beaches of Lamezia, visitors can still find a quiet place to relax in summer.
The city was founded in 1968. At that time, many small communities were merged. However, these small communities had existed since ancient times.
Lamezia is often called Lamezia Therme because there is a thermal bath in the Sambiase district, which was already used by the Romans. Even today, guests can bathe in the thermal baths. The water is said to have healing properties.
The Thyrrhenian coast is not far from the city. The secluded bays and beaches invite you to swim. But you can also go diving, surfing or sailing.
The nearby mountains offer a change from beach holidays. The canyons and valleys are excellent for hiking. The panorama of the surrounding countryside and the sea is unique. There are three national parks in the immediate vicinity of the city.
The best time to travel to Lamezia by RV is in May, June, July, August and September. On average, the warmest months are July and August. Catalonia is located in the south of Italy, so the region is very sunny.
The sun shines on 320 days in Catalonia. The bathing season begins in May. In autumn and winter you can hike in the mountains. In summer it is often too warm for that.

It rarely rains in Catalonia. Especially in summer, there is hardly any precipitation. So you can safely leave your umbrella at home.
In winter there is a little more rain. In December you can expect 9 days of rain. Towards the end of the year there is up to 72 mm of rainfall.
Due to the numerous sights, it is almost impossible to explore the entire city. But no visitor should miss the following attractions:
The thermal baths are said to be well over 2000 years old. The healing spring enhances well-being and health. It is located in the Sambiase district. This part is directly in the nature reserve Difesa Mitoio Caronte.
The thermal water bubbles directly out of the earth at a temperature of 39 degrees Celsius. The water is particularly good for rheumatism. But it can also cure respiratory diseases and skin problems.
This old castle is enthroned on the top of a mountain. The excursion is worthwhile for the great view alone. The gate to the castle is sometimes locked, but you can usually visit it.
Nearby is a beautiful place to take photos. The oldest parts date back to the time of the Greeks. The complex was badly destroyed by earthquakes in the 17th century.
For all nature lovers, a day trip with the RV to the Parco Nazionale della Sila is worthwhile. This vast national park is a real hiker's paradise. On the way, you can watch deer and birds.
The native wolves, however, are rarely seen. The highest mountain in the region is Monte Botto Donato. The roads through the park are also excellent for cycling.

This well-maintained campsite is located between the city and the sea in a beautiful natural setting. The RV can be parked in the shade of trees. Guests are greeted in a very friendly manner.
The sanitary facilities are clean and in good condition. There are a few very good restaurants near the site. The sea is easily accessible.
This site offers a lot of action. The site is well suited for sports enthusiasts. There is a popular kitesurfing spot right next to the site.
The RV can be parked close to the sea. The sanitary facilities are clean. The great sunsets are a special highlight.
This camper service is very simply equipped but well located and free of charge. The RV is parked in a large car park. You can stay here for a few nights.
There are no sanitary facilities, but there are a few good shops nearby. The centre is easily accessible by bike. If you want to save some money on your holiday, you will certainly be quite happy here.
Car/ RV: The city is easily accessible by RV via the A2. The transport network in the region is well developed. However, tolls are charged on the motorway.
By plane: The airport is only a few kilometres from the city. However, it is not huge. Not all international airlines fly to it. From the airport, you can take a bus or a taxi to town.
The city is perfect for a holiday with an RV. In addition to numerous ancient buildings, it also has magnificent nature to offer. It is especially worth renting a bike and exploring the national parks. The beautiful sea invites you to swim in summer. There are three recommended campsites along the coast.
