Camping is going to be more fun with these games
You know how it feels. Your tent is set up, the camping fire keeps your food warm and you are having your last bite while the sun goes down. You are slowly getting tired, but the night is still young. Of course you could spend your time telling stories or philosophizing about life and the world. But if that sounds too much for the moment, you can take a look at our list and you might just find the right game for you. A good atmosphere and lots of laughter are guaranteed!
Who am I?
Classic, timeless and a guarantee for laughter. Who am I is the best option for your camping holiday. A player is selected and assigned the name of a celebrity by another player. The name of the celebrity is then written on a paper and put at the forehead of the selected player. The “celebrity” then can ask all sorts of questions in the hope of finding out who he/ she is. But he/ she receives only yes or no as an answer.
Spin the Bottle
Another classic game that stands for fun and sometimes embarrassing moments. Participants sit in a circle and one player spins the empty, on the ground laying bottle. Who the bottle points at has to either show his bravery or answer to a personal question – the so called truth or dare dilemma. He/ she can afterwards take his/ her revenge. He/ she spins the bottle again and gets to ask the question: Truth or Dare?
Do it like Katy Perry – the ultimate songwriter contest
No matter if you brought your guitar with you or not: this songwriting contest will definitely make your evening more interesting and unfold your musical talents. The “Katy Perry” of the group chooses a well-known song. The others form smaller groups and have to write from scratch the lyrics of the chorus of that song. You could, for instance, use well-known hits, such as “Mambo Nr 5”, “Blue (Da Ba Dee)”, “Wonderwall” or new catchy hits, such as “Shape of you” or “Roar”. The remake of the song is now going to be presented in front of the others. You can also create your own small dancing show. You might need paper and pen for this game, in order to calculate the points or make your notes.
Couples guessing with impro-actions
Two players are trying to mimic through pantomima famous couples, such as Bonnie and Clyde, Yoko Ono and John Lennon or Rose and Jack from the Titanic. All other players must guess which couples are behind the wordless gestures. If nobody comes up with the couple within five minutes, you can start adding expressions that are typically used by the couple. Be careful though not to mention any names. A bell should ring at “Image all the people”.
Tops and tails
Tops and tails is probably older than mankind, but this does not mean that it is not fun! All you need is a good vocabulary or just a lot of imagination. A player begins with a composite word, such as treehouse. The next player has now to find a composite word, that starts with the second word of the previous composition, in our case “house”. The new word could for instance be housecall. The next player has to make a composite word that starts with call and so on. As soon as even the most creative word creator cannot come up with a Composite anymore, the game is over.
I pack my suitcase – Camping-Edition
Okay, camping with suitcases is not so common. So we are going to slightly modify the game. Instead let’s say, “I pack my sleeping bag in my backpack”. The following player adds another thing inside his backpack: “I pack my sleeping bag and my shampoo in my backpack”. More and more items are added in the backpack. The game ends when one of the players forgets to mention one of the items.
Beer Carrier
The bottles are empty. Nobody wants to get up, but everybody wants to continue drinking. Before you start picking turns, you can solve the rising conflict by playing a fun game. Just place one empty bottle about four meters away from the group. Each player has to throw a small stone towards the bottle. The one who is further away from the bottle has to get up and bring new drinks.
Taking the next sip
Last, but not least here is a fun drinking game for you and your friends. Two players are sitting in a circle, 2 meters apart from each other, with a full bottle placed between them. On the opened bottle lies the crown cork. Players now have to throw the crown cork off the bottle. The one who succeeds gets to drink a sip and tries his luck again.
