We spoke with the owner of Eurcamping and well-known wine taster, Catia Soardi. She shared with us the story of the campground and gave us inside tips of the region of Roseto degli Abruzzi (Teramo), in Italy.
First of all, could you introduce your campsite and yourself?
EURCAMPING is a 3-star campground located in the city of Roseto degli Abruzzi. The city of 25.000 inhabitants belongs to a region called Abruzzo and is one of the most important centers of the province of Teramo.
In Roseto degli Abruzzi everyone can have a break from his/ her crazy city life and recharge his/ her batteries. Guests can enjoy the view of the Adriatic coast, the shadow of our trees or just the silence. The sea is ideal for windsurfing, sailing and, above all, fishing. Furthermore there is a small tourist port free for use.
Our campground covers 50,000 square meters and is divided in two areas. On the one hand there is the village area with 45 masonry bungalows and 39 mobile homes suitable for 2, 4 or 5 people. While on the other hand you will find the camping area offering about 265 large pitches.
What is the story behind your camp?
The brothers Mario, Agostino, Matteo and Angelo originally from Brescia decided to found Eurcamping in the 60s. Since then we offer authentic Italian hospitality with a touch of elegant simplicity. We actually celebrated in 2017 our 50th birthday!

What should visitors expect from your campsite? What will they find upon arrival?
Our campground offers 260 comfortable pitches surrounded by green trees ideal for nature lovers. Pitches are between 70/90 square meters big, located on a flat ground covered by grass suitable not only for tents, but also for caravans and campers. Cars can be parked free of charge on the pitch or in the car parks inside the campsite.
We also offer bungalows and mobile homes. Our bungalows are all in masonry, either in rows or in single houses. They have different sizes and furnishings, meeting the needs of large families as well as of couples longing for an “en plein air” holiday.
Our recently built mobile homes Traminer and Sauvignon Blanc are made out of thermal insulation material. They are located in the countryside and include a wooden veranda with table and chairs.
We try to make our guests’ stay as pleasant as possible. Therefore we offer many services, such as a bar, a restaurant with take-away, a pizzeria, a mini market, laundry and ironing facilities, WiFi, an outdoor gym, book-sharing, a free shuttle bus (available from mid-June to mid-September) and security services.
Our little guests have a big spectrum of activities to choose from. Slides, swings, sandpit, balance board, table tennis, bikes, soccer and volleyball fields are waiting for them. Moreover our animation team takes care of the entertainment programme. There is also a swimming pool only for children and one for adults.

Glamping seams to be important for your campground. Can you tell us a little bit about it?
On our 50th anniversary, in the year 2017, we made quite some changes. The first one was adding Glamping tents in the heart of our camping village. We chose the names Biker Bouschet, Mini Lodge Lagrein and Lagrein Plus for them. Guests who glamped were charmed by the beautiful private garden accompanying the tent.
But glambing is not the only thing we introduced in 2017. We also created a bike path. The south seafront was therefore connected to the remaining part of Roseto degli Abruzzi, allowing our guests (and not only) to ride safely while at the same time enjoying the sea view.

What is special about your campsite location?
Our charming city Roseto degli Abruzzi is the ideal starting point for excursions. Nature, culture and history are combined in our region providing plenty of options for all interests.
Mountains, parks and nature reserves offer an escape from the city. Abruzzo National Park, Maiella National Park, Gran Sasso-Monti della Laga National Park, Sirente-Velino Regional Park are only a few examples of what awaits to be discovered.
Furthermore guests can explore the exceptional churches, abbeys, hermitages and sanctuaries. The sanctuary of the Holy Face near the village of Manoppello or the abbey of S. Maria di Propezzano in Morro D’Oro are for instance, only a stone’s throw away.
History lovers will be pleased by the ancient villages, fortresses and handicrafts in Montepagano, Atri and Casoli di Atri. The ancient fortress in Civitella del Tronto, the medieval villages of Santo Stefano di Sessanio and Rocca Calascio are going to take the visitor in a trip to Italy’s past.
What are the most exciting/fun moments that have made your campsite special?
One of our favourite moments was organizing the event “Sapori Gran Sasso” (Flavours of Gran Sasso) in July 2016. Guests had the opportunity to taste typical products of Abruzzo region from 30 different tables.
Also, every August, we celebrate the carnival. Each year has a different theme, offering fun moments to young and less young guests.
