Easy Camping Meals to prepare on a Camping Stove

Camping is a great activity that might involve many different things. From cooking easy camping meals to hiking in the hills, there are many activities you can enjoy. If you love cooking, but are very practical, we have compiled 3 easy camping recipes to add to your list. 1. Campfire Chicken and Vegetable Stew
Winter is the perfect time of the year to enjoy something delicious and self-made. Chicken and vegetable stew is one of the most yummy easy camping recipes you can make in this season. As winter is approaching (eventhough we don’t all want to admit it) we might as well be prepared and master this recipe ahead of time. If you’re going for the vegetarian/vegan version, just omit the chicken and focus on your veggies. Okay, here’s what you will need:
Ingredients:
- 2 sliced carrots
- 1 large fennel bulb
- 200 ml of white wine in a small glass
- 2 crushed garlic cloves
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil or vegetable oil
- 12 waxy potatoes
- 300 grams of pumpkin
- 1 chopped onion
- 800 grams of boneless chicken thigh and or breast fillets; cut them into large pieces.
Preparation:
- Heat the oil on a large camp stove placed on a grill rack. Add onion and garlic and let them cook for ten minutes.
- Add the pumpkin, carrot, and fennel, and let it cook for another five minutes.
- Add the chicken and the stir properly to let the mix combine and cook it for another two to three minutes.
- In a small amount of water of about 400 ml cook the potatoes. You can add some salt and pepper to improve flavor.

2. One-Pot Sweet Potato Pasta
Okay, next we have one of the best and easiest camping meals that you can make on a camping trip. This recipe is essentially vegetarian, but if you want to make it vegan, just skip the cheese. Carbs will help you maintain the energy you need for outdoor activities and will keep you full for a longer time! Also Pasta is an all-time people pleaser, so there’s no way you can go wrong with it! From your kids to your mother in law, we’re sure everyone will enjoy this super easy camping meal, so here it is:
Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 finely chopped carrot
- 1 stick of celery that is finely chopped
- 1 brown onion
- 2 finely chopped garlic cloves
- 1 tin of diced tomatoes (400g)
- 5 l of hot water
- 1 sweet potato
- 1 ½ cups of small pasta shapes
- Parsley and parmesan to serve
Preparation:
- Heat the oil properly in the camp stove, then add the celery, garlic, onion, carrots. Let it cook while you stir regularly.
- Add tomatoes and sweet potatoes to the pot and then cover it. Let it cook until the potatoes get tender enough. This will take about 30 minutes.
- Add pasta and leave it to cook for another 10 minutes. Remove the food from heat and serve when hot. Depending on the amount, serve in the right size of bowls.

3. One English Breakfast
This is an easy camping recipe that lets you start your day in style. It can be adapted to a vegetarian-friendly recipe, if you leave out the bacon. Also to top it, you could eat it with some avocado to add some good fats, and just because let’s face it, who doesn’t love avocado? (if that’s you, we can’t be friends, sorry). But anyway, let’s get into it:
Ingredients:
- 6 Beaten eggs
- 1 tbsp snipped chives
- 140g button mushroom
- 4 slices of smoked back bacon
- Handful grated cheese
- 8 halved cherry tomatoes
Preparation:
- Start by heating the grill. Next, add the bacon and stir occasionally until it begins to crisp; this takes five minutes.
- Add mushrooms and let it cook for 3-5 minutes. Get rid of any excess fat and evenly spread out the ingredients.
- Now season the eggs and then add them to the pan to fill in the spaces. Use a fork to move them gently for up to two minutes. Make sure that you do this over medium heat.
- Scatter cheese, tomatoes and chives over the omelett. Grill again for another two minutes.
- Finally, cut them into wedges and have them served with your favorite sauce.
