Cocktails and summer simply belong together. They should therefore not be missing from your camping holidays! Obviously only the few of us would have a well-equipped bar in their caravan or motorhome. Nevertheless there is no need surviving your holidays without tasty cocktails.
Many simple recipes for refreshing drinks can be produced in the blink of an eye. A little bit of improvisation and possibly some planning in advance could be helpful. We present you five tasty and easy to mix cocktail recipes for your next camping holidays.
Pina Colada
As many other cocktails, Pina Colada is also available in numerous variations. Forget the shaker and the coconut cream. Why should you have to carry these with you to enjoy your cocktail? Pineapple and coconut juices are equally good! No worries, under the stars you won’t notice the difference between coconut cream and coconut juice.
Ingredients:
- 0.6 liters of rum (white is best)
- 0,6 litres pineapple juice
- 0.4 liters coconut juice
- & of course, ice
Recipe:
You just need to mix everything together and your delicious cocktail is ready! Those who would like some decoration, can pour their drink into a long glass and decorate it with a slice of pineapple or alternatively a cherry.
Tequila Sunrise
Tequila Sunrise. The name alone sounds like a midsummer dream. How often did you see the sunrise at the camping beach? The orange and reddish colours of the sun are being reflected in this refreshing drink!
Ingredients:
- four cl Tequila
- one cl lemon juice
- eleven cl orange juice
- one cl Grenadine
- some ice cubes
Recipe:
The ice cubes and all other ingredients, except of the grenadine, are placed in the shaker. Shake it up for about 15 seconds. Then pour some crushed ice into a long drink glass and pour the cocktail through a so-called bar sieve. Now all you have to do is pour the grenadine carefully and preferably over an inverted spoon into the glass. Do not mix the drink until the syrup has reached the bottom of the glass. A slice of lemon on the edge of the glass will bring a fresh feeling.
Caipirinha
Caipirinha is one of the most popular cocktails worldwide. Recipes vary, but the one we searched out for you, is obviously the best. The recipe is simple and therefore suitable for camping. The cocktail consists only out of three ingredients, but is nevertheless very tasty. So thumbs up for Caipirinha! Contrary to what is often assumed, this cocktails does not contain rum, but cachaça. Otherwise the drink would be called Caipirissima.
Ingredients:
- 5 cl Cachaça – Magnifica
- a lime
- three BS cane sugar
Recipe:
First of all, cut the lime into as large as possible pieces and put them into so-called tumblers. Tumblers are short glasses with a rather thick base. Add the cane sugar and crush it carefully with a pestle or a special Muddler. Pour Cachaca into the glass and fill the rest with crushed ice. Your drinks are ready and can be tasted on your terrace.
Dark ‘N’ Stormy
There is a slight possibility you will get caught in the rain while camping. If the campsite is located let’s say in Norway or Denmark [Links], this possibility becomes a probability. Only a Dark ‘n’ Stormy Cocktail can help in such moments.
Ingredients:
- five cl Goslings Black Seal Rum
- Ginger Beer
- one to two lime quarters
Recipe:
Firstly, press the lime quarters over a glass. Then fill it up with Ginger Beer. It is important that your glass it is not completely full, since your rum is going to be poured in as well. Later creates a “dark cloud” over your beer. Your cocktail is ready! This destroys the beautiful picture, but lets the taste really get through. A Dark ‘N’ Stormy is officially not being decorated. Nevertheless a slice of lime can be used.
Sex on the Beach
Sure, sex on the beach isn’t the easiest cocktail recipe. But, the most demanding among us should also have their fun. If, for whatever reason, you don’t have high demandings for your sex on the beach, liqueurs and syrups can be replaced by juices. And all of the sudden, the recipe seems to be much easier.
Ingredients:
- four cl apricot liqueur
- four cl vodka
- eight cl pineapple juice
- four cl cranberry syrup
- four cl orange juice
- some ice cubes
Recipe:
Place four to five ice cubes in a shaker. Fill it with the remaining ingredients, close the lid and shake it up for about 15 to 20 seconds. To keep your drink for as long as possible cool place some ice cubes in the long drink glass. The cocktail is then served with a fresh slice of orange.
