Best Route to Follow  

For campers with interest in the local community, Auronzo Di Cadore on the eastern side of the Dolomites is a good starting point. There are also villages around where you can interact with the local communities and learn something from their culture. From Auronzo, the next stop should be Misurina through road SR48. This area sits between Tre Cime and Monte Cristallo mountain peak with an addition of a stunning lake where you can relax and enjoy the scene. There is a camper area near the lake where you can spend your night.

After Misurina, keep driving on the SR48 road up to Passo Tre Croci. This area is also home to another lake, Lake Sorapis. The scenery here is stunning with the light blue lake water and the mountain Dito Di Dio on the background. Another must-visit place is the mountain village of Cortina where you can enjoy activities such as trekking, hiking, mountain climbing and mountain biking. Note that parking your camper van on the streets may not be allowed. One week is enough for all these activities you can proceed further to other areas such as the Dobbiaco Lake and Lake Braies.
