5 Drinking games for a fun camping trip with friends!
Camping with friends is always a fun time, but if you add drinking games to the equation the results can be multiplied!
With the cold weather season threatening to arrive and stay for a while, you will need a little extra something to help warm up your bodies while camping, and alcohol can definitely help with that 😉
Get around the campfire and be ready for an exciting night (Or day, no rules while camping, right?) Here are the 5 most fun drinking games while camping!
1. Sip, Sip, Shot
Fun drinking games while camping can be taken to another level thanks to the freedom of being outdoors. This game is an adult version of Duck, Duck, Goose, where the whole group is sitting in a circle and one person is walking around it touching other players on the head saying “Sip” so everyone who’s been touched on the head needs to take a small drink. When the walking player finally decides to touch someone’s head and say “Shot” it means that he’s challenging that person to a race around the circle in opposite directions, and whoever makes it faster back to the sitting spot available will be safe, and the other person will take a shot and replace the walking player now. It starts to get more fun after a couple rounds when shots start to hit and suddenly your steps are not that straight during the race.
2. Flip Cup
This is one of the most fun drinking games in history! It will turn your camping trip into a thrilling competition. All you need is a table, the longer the better so more players can join, a plastic cup for each person, and preferably beer or a low percentage alcoholic drink, otherwise you might end up surpassing the fun, since one of the main points of the game is drinking as fast as you can. Once you have this sorted out, the group will be divided into two teams, you can do boys and girls for a little extra competitiveness triggered by genre pride, which is always fun.
The teams will stand in opposite sides of the table facing one contendant each and they will have 1 quarter cup of beer in front of them. People on the right extreme side of the table will start drinking their beer as fast as possible and when they are finished they must flip their cup with one finger touch so that the cup will end upside down on the table (they have to do it as many times as necessary until they actually flip the cup). Then the following player next to them can start drinking, flip the cup, and so on. The fastest team to finish the round will be the winner and the whole losing team most either drink a shot or select the slowest person in their team to drink the shot. Fun twists to this game are doing some turns before flipping, running around the table before flipping, or flipping the cup without hands etc.
3. Medusa
This is another super fun drinking game while camping that does not require any equipment, and guarantees some serious laughter. To play medusa you just need a several amount of shots.
The group starts with their heads down, their foreheads touching the table and on the count to three, everyone lifts their head and stares directly to another player. They must hold their gaze, and not swift their look to another contestant otherwise they would be cheating. People who are gazing into a player who’s looking away to another person are safe.
But those who happen to look into each other’s eyes (eye contact), must scream Medusa! and drink a shot.
You do this various rounds until all the shots are gone!
4. Never Have I Ever Camping version
If we were to say “Never have I ever played Never have I ever” we would all have to drink a sip, wouldn’t we? So this is the classic game, with a little twist. The camping version allows only statements about outdoors actions. So like: Never have I ever pee on the bushes, go skydiving, do skinny dipping, or step on dog’s poop, etc.
This version challenges your creativity even more and can also get you drunk pretty fast if you consider yourself an outdoorsy person.
5. Cup Swap
Finally, this fun drinking game while camping is also perfect because it doesn’t require many things, just two cups and a spoon, which we always bring along to any camping trip anyway. For every contestant one cup will be filled with an alcoholic drink and the other cup will be empty. Whithin 60 seconds players must swap the liquid content from the full cup to the empty cup with the spoon. They have to be quick because when the 60 seconds had passed, they will have to chug whatever is left in their initial cup. If you want to go more hardcore you can also add the rule that the slowest swapper must drink a shot as well.
So there you go! Now you know how to spice up your campfire nights, have a great time and stay warm during the colder seasons coming. Just make sure you drink responsibly and drink lots of water to avoid a terrible hangover stop you from doing your other fun camping activities.
