Tips and tricks for camping at the festival site
No matter if you are planning a festival camping for the first time or are already a master in the field, you can always learn something new. And it’s especially important to think about camping, because that’s what the fun is all about. You need a place where you can relax at night and retreat during the day.
Your tent or car can also serve as a storage place for your supplies on the campsite. And when it comes to partying, there’s hardly anything more important than keeping your strength up. Enough food and not only beer, but also water should be at the top of your list. If you don’t feel like having a lot of bottles lying around, a water canister might be a a good choice. It is also available with a tap, so you can have tap water at any time.
What about FOOD?
You probably don’t want to waste your precious festival time with cooking. Therefore it’s best to take simple dishes with you that you can heat in a pot on the camping stove. A camping stove is definitely a good idea if you want to stay several days on the campsite. Because after days of grilled sausages, you’ll definitely long for some noodles or a warm stew. You should also take a cooling box with you. So not only your beer, but also your fresh fruits and vegetables, won’t get warm.
Good sleep is going to be your best friend at the festival! Therefore you should invest in a thick sleeping mat and a comfortable sleeping bag. Even in summer it can get very cool at night, depending on the weather. Then you’ll be happy when you can cuddle up in a warm sleeping bag. Are you sensitive to noise? Then you have lost at the music festival without earplugs. Also think about warm socks against cold feet. Yes, it’s a little extra, but it can be exactly what you needed in the end.
A small camping packing list
Maybe now you’re thinking, “How hard can it be?” Tent, mat, sleeping bag, sausage and beer. Ready? Let us give you a few tips and make your festival camping even more beautiful and above all stress-free.
Throw tent:
- Of course you can take a normal tent with you, but the practical throw tent doesn’t have to be set up. You will take it out of its bag, let it go and it will just jump up. Packing is only possible by folding, according to the instructions. So you won’t waste a minute of your precious time.
An inflatable mattress:
- More comfortable than a simple camping mat and without any extra work needed. You open the valve of the mat and fill it up with air. Simply roll up when packing.
Powerbank:
- If you don’t want to worry about where to charge your mobile phone or camera, take a large Powerbank with you. You can recharge it in the car on the way there and it will last you for several charges.
Lock for the tent:
- Camping is always risky, but you can minimize it. Attach a small lock to the closed tent and only someone who really wants it will come in. That way you’ll at least keep casual thieves away.
Twist torch:
- A torch is a must, that’s obvious. But what if you forget the spare batteries? There are lamps that can be charged by turning a small crank. This ensures that the light does not go out permanently in an emergency.
Multitool:
- scissors, knife, can opener, pliers … quite a lot of little things that you have to think about. If you get yourself a good multitool, you only have to pack a single piece and have everything you need for camping with you.
Gaffa Tape:
- A hole in the tent can spoil your whole stay, in case of rain. Or a hole in your shoe, a broken grill tong, a hole in the water canister. A lot can happen during camping, but most of it can also be fixed with a piece of really good tape. At least until you can fix it properly at home.
Baby wipes:
- Why is a baby camping at the festival? Quite simply, you don’t need to have a baby to use baby wipes. They are better than wet toilet paper because they contain no chemicals and only gentle ingredients. With them you can clean your hands, replace a shower or wash your face.
Your perfect festival camping experience
Now there’s not much left to say except to wish you a lot of fun camping at the festival! Last but not least: Just take it easier than you would at home. You probably won’t be able to shower as often as you’d like. Your drinks will get warm, you may forget the mosquito spray and your hair will look like a bird’s nest on the second day. Everything is half as bad as it seems because everyone is going to feel the same way. The less you think, the more relaxed you are and the more fun you will have.
