Tamanco is a campground hostel in the green heart of the Costa da Prata, between Porto and Lisbon. We welcome travelers, wanderers, campers and adventurers from near and far-away lands to enjoy the luxury of simplicity under the stars. A unique base to explore the center of Portugal. Visit the many special monuments and places in the region, browse local markets, discover Portuguese cuisine and drink ‘um cafézinho’ in one of the many pastelarias. Go hiking in pristine green or along the secluded beaches or endless sand dunes that stretch from Figueira de Foz to Nazaré, which with the highest waves in the world, can rightfully be called the mecca for surf enthusiasts. Although there’s plenty of rustic space to house tents, caravans and campers, we are much more than just a regular campsite. There’s, of course, our cabanas, yurts, tubes and artist shack that make the difference, but above all: it’s us and our wonderful team. We make an effort in being this special hangout for people who love to create, to share and connect. We serve 'home made comfort food at ‘A Cantina’, our onsite café and eatery.
